Our Senior Preschool program provides a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment where children are gently guided through their final year of early learning and supported towards a confident and successful transition to school. Led by an experienced Early Childhood Teacher, our school readiness program is thoughtfully designed to strengthen each child’s learning foundations, independence, and overall wellbeing.
We offer a balanced approach that blends purposeful play with more structured learning experiences, helping children develop the focus, confidence, and skills they need for a positive start to school. Early literacy and phonics are supported through engaging, hands-on experiences such as guided reading, interactive word games, tracing activities, and intentional learning opportunities that build strong early language and communication skills.
Also, through the Magic 100 Words program, children develop essential language and early literacy skills, creating strong foundations for lifelong learning.
Children are encouraged to express their ideas creatively through writing, drawing, and project-based experiences, supporting the development of early writing skills, letter recognition, and confidence with their own name. Learning is personalised and meaningful, ensuring each child is supported at their own pace as they grow and develop.
A strong focus is placed on social and emotional development, with children supported to build friendships, work cooperatively with others, follow routines, and develop positive strategies for understanding and managing emotions. Through group learning, imaginative play, and daily routines, children grow in independence, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging.
We also extend learning beyond the classroom through regular community excursions, including visits to a local community garden and aged care facility. These valuable experiences help children develop empathy, respect, and a deeper connection to their community while broadening their understanding of the world around them.
In addition, leadership and responsibility are fostered through roles such as a daily “Mini Director,” where one child assists the Director with simple simple tasks around the centre.. A class pet further supports the development of responsibility and independence while strengthening connections between home and preschool life, as children share experiences.
